My name is Stacey Marquee-Flentje and by vocation I am a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My husband is a pediatrician as well as a child/adolescent/adult psychiatrist. His primary work is with adolescents and adults in the corrections system. He works with children in the foster care system as well as. We have been breeding dogs (Schipperkes and Pembroke Welsh Corgis) for more than 11 years.
We are located in Kalamazoo, Michigan and have lived here for about 7 years. Prior to that, we spent 14 years in the Grand Rapids area. We have 4 adult children. Our oldest is the children’s department librarian at a local library. Our next oldest child works a substitute teacher. Our next oldest works a substitute teacher. Our third oldest is the adult librarian at a local library and our youngest is 27 and is currently pursuing a degree in biology and has a keen interest genetic engineering. Ok, I'm done bragging about our children.
Our current dam is Myfanwy ( Muh-Fun-Wuh) (we call her Gwinny or the Floof) and her name is Welsh for "My Precious". Gwinny is a Black Headed Tri-Color with the dilute gene. My husband and I traveled to Texas in September of 2020 to pick her up. We began breeding Gwinny in the Summer of 2022. Corgis with this color variation are referred to as "Bluies." The dilute gene is a double recessive gene, which Ollie also possesses.
On the left is Olifer Taliesen (Ollie). His name means small warrior and singer of poetry. He became our new sire in February, 2024.
On the right is Gruffudd Medwyn (Gruff). His name means prince and strong friend. He will spend his time being Greg's new best friend.
Gwidgion (rhymes with pigeon), who went by Gwidgie, passed in January 2023. "Gwidgion" is Welsh for Singer of Love Songs. Gwidgion was whelped on a horse farm in Wisconsin and had a quite an attuned herding instinct. His personality was absolutely delightful and he was quite fond of human attention. He was also quite the "talker". This will make sense to you if you have had the privilege of having a Corgi in your life. Gwidgie sired so many beautiful corgis, and is intensely missed.
